Trend spotting in May Source magazine
Been really slack with posting this months trend spotting in The Brighton Source magazine. I was distracted by the launch of the shiny new Lomo LC-Wide (read my full review) and my May exhibitions (last weekend is this weekend). Also busy trying to sort out workshops for Austin, Texas for the 11th and 12th of June. I am trying to fill the last spots. Get in touch if you think you might interested.

April trend spotting
The April issue of Brighton Source Magazine is out now which means it’s once again time to check out my street style section. At the moment the mag is only showing one of my montage shots as the street style section is one page so the only place to see all the shots is on my blog and my montage portrait flickr set.
Montage portraits in the March issue of Source
The March issue of Brighton Source Magazine is out now which means it’s time to check out my street style section once again. The new issue has less pages so unfortunately some things have been cut including some record reviews and the street style extra sections. This means there will only be one street style image in the mag. For the foreseeable future the only place you will be able to see the other shots I have taken that month with be on my blog and my montage portrait flickr set.
If you want to try out this style of shooting yourself check out the chapter I wrote in my book Photo Op / 52 Photographic Projects about how to shoot your own montage portraits. You can download that chapter as a PDF here. If you want to get the other 51 chapters it might be a bit tricky as the UK version of the book is now out of print until May. Read more about how you might still be able to get hold of it in this blog post.
Below is the shot for the March Issue plus the unused images at a higher resolution than you will see them on Flickr and, depending on you screen size, maybe larger than they appear in the mag! Continue reading
I have written a new book: Toy Cameras / Fantastic Plastic Cameras
After finishing my 2nd book on the 24th of March 2010 work started on Toy Cameras less than a month later. Toy Cameras was then finished in 4 months, just after I had the book launches for Photo Op! Because most toy cameras require good lighting conditions for shooting I shot most of the photos for the book in Sunny Barcelona and California (it’s a hard life). I had not used some of the cameras in the book before, so to make sure they there where the best examples of what the cameras can do in the book, there are photos from 42 other contributors. The book serves as a guide to what different toy cameras are good for are what there particular quirks are. You can read more about what the book is about here.

Montage portraits in the February issue of Source
The February issue of Brighton Source Magazine is out now which means its time to check out my street style section again (I only take the pictures if don’t do the words).
If you want to try out this style of shooting yourself check out the chapter I wrote in my book Photo Op / 52 Photographic Projects about how to shoot your own montage portraits. You can download that chapter as a PDF here. If you want to get the other 51 chapters it might be a bit tricky as the UK version of the book is now out of print after being on sail for 7 mouths, read more about how you might still be able to get hold of it in my last blog post.
Below are all of the shots for the February Issue Plus the unused images at a higher resolution than you will see them on Flickr and depending on you screen size and maybe larger than they appear in the mag! Check out all my montage portraits in this flickr set. Continue reading
December Source trend spotting pictures
The next issue of Brighton Source won’t be out until February, you should still be able to catch the December/January issue in and around Brighton if you’re lucky. I still have to shoot some portraits for the new issue so if you knocking around Brighton doing your sales shopping after the January 1st then best make sure you are looking trendy as I might be approaching you.
