As usual I am exhibiting with my wife Rockcake who will have jewellery on show. Most of the work in the show is of a photographic nature to it but there is print making, illustration and sculpture on show too.

I am not going to go into details of everyone's work but write about a few. Rob Orchard is showing a limited edition poster of his Brighton Pub project. On Sunday the 13th and Saturday 19th there will be an opportunity to get Dollerized by Lisa Bamford. Check my Dollerized portrait below to see what that entails. Lisa and I are also showing large range of block mounted prints.

As part of the launch four of the venues were opened for a preview, I was able to make it around three of them. The Jewel in the crown of festival is the Vivian Maier exhibition. This is the first time Vivian Maier’s work has been shown in the UK. Vivian Maier’s photography was only just discovered even though she documented the world around her for her entire adult life. She passed away in 2009 and while she was alive she never showed her photography to anyone. The story of her works discovery and the secrets it has revealed is fascinating, currently a book of work is being published and a feature length documentary about her life is being made.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the private view. Being in West Bromwich I was expecting something low key because the last Parr show I had been invited to was at a working mans club in Cardif. This was not the case, The Public is a huge super modern gallery / arts facility. Its a pretty big exhibition and worth travailing to, I came 140 miles and I thought it was well worth it.
