I had a few hours spare in London when I was up for PhotoForum this week so I checked out the Travel Photographer of the Year 2013 exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society. It’s only on for another week so next Sunday (18th of August) will be your last chance to see it. Most of the exhibition is outside and there is a little coffee shop in the Geographical Society courtyard so you can enjoy a beverage while you view the work in out fine-ish summer weather.
The work that really sticks stands out for me was Craig Easton’s work from the series Drench about bad weather, Alessandra Meniconzi’s work documenting the Nenets the last nomads of Arctic Siberia and Timothy Allen’s image of the Buzludzha Monument in Bulgaria. The exhibition is free so there is no excuse for not checking it out if you’re in London in the next week.
