MiniClick Photo Illustration collaboration with Eloise Dorr
For the most part everything MiniClick does is free and all the people that work for it do so on a voluntary basis. MiniClick is a Brighton based organisation that puts on free Photography events if you want to know more you can read my brief MiniClick history.
As part of a fundraising drive MiniClick asked 14 photographers including me to donate an image and then 14 illustrators were asked to add their work to them. My photo of a jubilant swimmer was sent to Eloise Dorr. You can purchase a one off print of Eloise Dorr’s and my collaboration from Miniclick’s shop.
More Adobe Lightroom tips you might not know
It’s been a little while since I’ve written some new hidden Lightroom tips. These tips are not aimed at the advanced or newbie user as they’re tips I’ve been told about, they’re not the kind of thing you would pick up exploring the software. These new tips include things like the magic of Match Total Exposures, revealing what area you have a selected with an Adjustment Brush, making fine adjustments with touching sliders and more. MSK graffiti crew cover 100 meters of the Brighton i360’s hoarding
A group of graffiti artists from the MSK crew were invited to cover 100 meters of hoarding along the sea facing part of the Brighton i360 site last Sunday (9th August). I went along to document the process, last year there was a smaller event where I met four of the artists that had returned. In total 14 artists: 192,Aroe, Alert, Aups, Avk, Gary, Jiroe, Morf, Msk, Owed, Rebus, Rench, Twesh, Vodka, Warg and Yesb were painting for pretty much most of the day. Usually when I’m shooting for i360 I am in trousers with hi-vis and hard hat, it was nice to be shooting in the sunshine with my shorts, baseball cap and Birkenstocks

Revelations Experiments in Photography at the Science Museum’s Media Space
Revelations Experiments in Photography is a photographic exhibition focusing on Scientific photography and how Science has influenced photography. The exhibition is split into three sections: Once Invisible, The New Vision and After the Future.
The room ‘Once Invisible’ showcases the work of early pioneering scientific photographers which includes the first photograph of a solar eclipse and the first X Ray images. The more I learn about the history of early photography the more I find myself amazed at what could be achieved in a short time after the first permanent photographic image was captured in 1826. A lot of the images depict subjects that would of never been seen before the invention of photography weather that’s because they focused something really small, used long exposures or visualised the invisible like magnetic fields. Auguste Adolphe Bertsch’s image of a honey bee louse magnified 300 times really caught my eye, it’s a pin sharp picture of insect so small that it lives on a honey bee and it was taken in 1875.
Pictures and Time-lapse of Brighton i360’s foundation pouring
This weekend was the first phase of the Brighton i360 foundation pour. A total of 2500 tonnes of concrete was poured into the foundations over 12 hours starting at 6am on Saturday morning. On average a cement truck was coming on site every 5 minutes to one of 3 pumps. The pumps can put the concrete anywhere in the foundation. There was a small group of men for each pump using vibrators to remove air from the concrete and to make it level. I was on site taking pictures and I also shot a time-lapse of the pour.
I’ve been working for the Brighton i360 for almost a year now. I’ve previously posted pictures from my visit to Cif in Holland where the tower is being made and I also posted posted the first 8 month of a time-lapse which is documenting the entire build.
